Biomaterial has shown great potential in future research, application field, also it has drawn increasing attention for its unique biocompatibility. We synthesized polyisobutylene-based biomaterial via copolymerization of polyisobutylene and L-lactide using hydroxyl-end-fuctional polyisobutylene as macroinitiator.Firstly, TMPCl(CumCl)/FeCl3/ED was used as initiating system, via living cationic polymerization, we successfully initiated the capping polymerization of isobutylene with 1,3-butadiene as capping solvent to obtain PIB-Allyl-Cl and Cl-Allyl-PIB-Allyl-Cl. After a thorough investigation into time of living polymerization, capping time and capping solvent concerntation, polyisobutylene is able to be obtained with narrow PDI(1.1?1.16) and predictable Mn at -80?(Allyl-Cl%=93%).Secondly, CumCl(DCC)/FeCl3/ED initiating system was used to initiate living polymerization of IB,ATMS as capping solvent to obtain PIB-Allyl. After looking into the experimental condition, we are able to obtain polyisobutylene with narrow PDI(1.1?1.14) and predictable Mn at -80? (Allyl-Cl%=96-99%).Thirdly, hydrolysis of PIB-Allyl-Cl using TBAH to synthesize PIB-Allyl-OH,and in case of Cl-Allyl-PIB-Allyl-Cl to get OH-Allyl-PIB-Allyl-OH; hrdroboration/oxidation of PIB-Allyl is achieved to produce hydroxyl-end polyisobutylene.Fourthly, ring opening polymerization of L-LA with three different kinds of micromolecular alcohol are achieved to look into influence of chemical structures on initiating efficiency.Lastly, obtained hydroxyl-end PIB are used as macroinitiator to initiate ring-opening polymerization of L-lactide to synthesize diblock polymer and triblock polymer.
