Paper fold is a common phenomenon,so the simulation of paper folding comes into being.Thin shell simulation has increasingly become the focus of attention.Paper also can be referred to as thin shell,and the model is the key of efficient simulate thin shell.The traditional deformation simulation using the model based on geometric or physical modeling.Based on the high cost and more complex of physical modeling but the reality is stronger than geometric modeling.Based on the accuracy of deformation is not enough of geometric modeling.In order to realize the simulation of paper folding,the paper proposes a paper folding simulation based on physical model and geometric model.The linear energy of thin shell deformation can't solve the problem of geometric rotation details,therefore using mass-spring model is combined with Poisson deformation method.Differential deformation domain can ensure rotation invariance and it is better to deal with wrinkling details.Without changing the topology of paper,paper fold deformation is actually updated grid vertex coordinates after simulation.Paper fold takes two steps to implement simulation,main works includes:1)Construct spring-mass model of a paper.According to the number of vertices of model,keep the appropriate number of particles,using a small number of particles will reduce the effect of simulation,lagrangian method is used to balance the authenticity.2)Details become richer according to the deformation effect last step,achieve the best effect without changing the topological structure;we choose the Poisson deformation method for further deformation.In this article,differential deformation method is combined with mass-spring model to simulate paper fold,the results of the simulation is more real.We record the key information in simulation process,and ensure the diversity of the simulation,and then we realize a complex folding simulation which is effect,accurate,stable and fast.
