With the development of society and the improvement of living standards, the paint was required to be multifunctional. The new functional coatings, polymer/inorganic composite, had the advantages of easy processing, high toughness, high strength, and high temperature resistance. The difficult problems in the present research were the even dispersion of the inorganic in polymer and the limitations in application. In this paper, sericite/polymer functional coating materials were prepared to obtain new functional coatings with excellent comprehensive properties and high practical value. The contents and conclusions of this dissertation are as follows:1. Sericite and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) were dispersed in ethanol by ultrasonic dispersion to obtain the suspension mixtures with different sericite content. The composite films were prepared by casting the suspension on the glass. The chemical structure and the micro-morphology of films were confirmed by means of FTIR, Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS) and SEM. The hydrophobicity of the composite films with different content of sericite was studied by measuring the water contact angles (CA). The results showed that when the content of the sericite was lower than 25 wt%, CA of the composite films was greater than 150°. When the content of the sericite of was 12.5 wt%, CA of the composite films was 161° and the sliding angle of was about 5° suggesting that the film has excellent self-cleaning property.2. The stabilitiy of the films at high temperatures was studied by exposing the films at 90 ℃,120℃,150℃,180℃,210℃,240℃,270℃ and 300℃. The films corrosion resistance was studied by soaking films in the 0.1mol/L H2SO4 solution, 0.1mol/L NaOH solution and saturated salt water for 90 days, respectively. The results showed that CA of the composite films which were treated by high temperature or soaked in the acid, alkali and salt was still greater than 150° indicating that the film can keep stability in hush condition.3. By using KPS as initiator, and N,N’-methy-lene-bis-acrylamide as cross-linking agent, the sericite/polyacrylic acid (PAA) cross-linking composite was prepared by solution polymerication. The chemical structure and the micro-morphology of sericite/PAA was confirmed by means of FT-IR, EDS, SEM, TEM, DSC, TGA, DLS and gel content measuament methods. The thermal stability of the crosslinked polymer and the covering effect with different content of acrylic acid was studied. The results showed that when the content of acrylic acid reached 70 wt%, the sericite were wrapped entirely by PAA.4. The cross-linking composite was grinded to micron particles through ball milling. By using 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen) and acetylacetone (acac) as small molecular ligands, the sericite/PAA cross-linking polymer coordinated with the Eu3+ ion and Tb3+ ion to obtain the fluorescence complexes. The fluorescent properties of the complexes were studied by emission spectra and fluorescence microscope. The characteristic fluorescence coating was obtained by adding rare earth complexes particles into alkyd resin.
