China has a vast land, with various and abundant mineral resources. Small and medium-sized mines take up a great percentage in the production, but their managers pay insufficient attention to the informatization of mines, which has resulted in slow informatizaiton construction of small and medium-sized mines. Consequently, the development of a 3D information system integrating the 3D visualization and information management of mines will be of great help for realizing the upgrading of production and management structure, and developing a modern mine integrating the automation and informatizaiton. In spite of this, mining information and visualization arestill facing geological information data standard uniformity is poor, difficult to manage; Software platform using the complex operation, ordinary users and there is a huge gap between mining basic geographic information;In mining area covered with larger area, high image resolution, 3D virtual reality scene roaming significantly lower efficiency, software of collapse may even happen.To solve these problems in this paper, from the mine 3D scene modeling, data information management and 3D visualization technology and other aspects of the digital mine information system, the main work and achievements are as follows:(1) 3D visualization technology is researched, Three dimensional visualization technology is studied, and the related technology of 3D visualization is discussed. The method of using high resolution satellite image to obtain the 3D visualization data of the digital elevation model and the digital ortho image is studied. the terrain model and architecture model of Wulonggou Mine is constructed with modeling software. Meanwhile, 3D scene integration display is carried out with SpacEyes 3D.(2)According to the 3D information system design principle and user requirements, design the function of the mine 3D information system framework, Determine the system development environment and technical route of system implementation.(3)A 3D geographic information system of mines is developed, consisting of the 3D visualization module and data management module. 3D visualization model mainly implements such functions as the 3D scene call, scene viewpoint switching, layer management, 3D model attribute information inquiry, spatial measuring, and profile drawing through the plug-in technology provided by SpacEyes3 D.
