Trichlorosilane purification, cold hydrogen and silicon deposition in the reducing furnace processes in the polysilicon production will produce a large number of polysilicon slurry. Slurry is mainly composed of chlorosilane and silicon powder. It will affect the stable operation of the process and pollute the environment. Therefore, how to properly handle polysilicon slurry becomes the major technical problem for the polysilicon industry at present.The purpose of this article is to design and develop a new type of continuous closed drying machine used for recycling the solid slag slurry in the polysilicon production. After the analytic calculation on the basis of the classical mechanics theory and determining the preliminary design scheme according to the characteristics of the drying process, ANSYS Workbench software was applied to check the strength and deformation of the complex structure mixing system, including the combination helical ribbon and outer rotary conical jacket. According to the mixing system stress distribution and deformation of each part, the structure of the weak links were found out. The results show that the complex mixing system has enough strength and stiffness to meet the technological requirements. The maximum equivalent stress is less than the allowable stress of the material, and the maximum deformation is less than the distance between the ribbon and the wall. Roller bearing and the bearing installation produce stress concentration, and it should reduce the quality and increase the cross section moment of inertia in order to improve the stress and deformation state.Then on the basis of the finite element analysis, the optimization design function of ANSYS Workbench software was optimized the core structure of the drying equipment mixing system, including the combination helical ribbon and outer rotary conical jacket. With total quality, maximum stress, maximum deformation as optimization variables, we got the mixing system optimal design scheme which can minimize the quality, reduce raw material cost and manufacturing cost.The result of mechanics analysis and optimization can be used to provide the theoretical basis and reference for the industrialization of this kind of new continuous type drying equipment in the future.
