The influence of sodium polyacrylate and polyacrylamide on the flocculation of hematite fines were studied in different conditions by the sedimentation experiments.Taking into account the impact of flocculants on the subsequent which is filtering process,the influence of the selected flocculants on the filtering process of hematite fines were also studied.The surface tension of solution and variation of the surface electrical property of hematite fines had been studied in absence and presence of reagents,the adsorption property of hematite fine had been studied by the infrared spectrometry,the mechanism of starch flocculation hematite fines were simply described.The sedimentation experiments results indicated that: The optimal choice of three series flocculants are S20,M216,Y2,and the subsidence effect order of three flocculants on hematite fines is as follows: M216,S20,Y2.Three kinds of flocculants settlement hematite fines,the optimal condition as follows: the dosage of S20 is 70g/t,slurry pH of 4,slurry temperature is 25℃;the dosage of M216 is 70g/t,slurry pH of 10,slurry temperature is 25℃;the dosage of Y2 is 50g/t,slurry pH of 6,slurry temperature is 20℃.M216-S20 can be used in combination to produce the synergies.The filtration test results showed that: The three best flocculants for Settlement of fine hematite can also improve the filtration rate of hematite,but there are slightly adverse effects on the moisture content of the filter cake.The addition of surfactants can make the moisture content of the filter cake under control.It’s better to use in combination with M216(10g/t)and NaOL(30g/t)to the filtering process of hematite fines.The absolute value of dynamic potential results show that: Flocculants S20 and M216 promote subsidence of hematite is produced by bridging manner,and Y2 mainly by eliminating sulfur concentrate surface charge to promote the settlement of hematite.The flocculants have little impact the surface tension of solution.The surfactants can easily significantly reduce surface tension,thereby reducing the moisture content of the filter cake.
