With the development of high efficient continuous casting technology,it puts forward higher request for slab quality.The flow of liquid steel plays a decisive role for slab quality;and it directly affects heat transfer and inclusion floatation in mold and has a close relationship with surface and internal quality of slab.Therefore,it has great significance for further and deep study on liquid steel flow of mold to ensure continuous casting operation smooth and improve slab quality.This paper establishes a 1:2 water mold model,which is based on sectional width 600 mm continuous casting mold of an iron and steel company,to study the influence rule of different factors on flow field of molten steel in mold,including casting speed,the depth of submerged entry nozzle(SEN),angle of nozzle port,bottom shape and eccentric distance of SEN.The methods of mathematical simulation is used to study the influence rule of molten steel flow field and temperature field distribution with different processing parameters.The main conclusion of this paper are concluded as follows:(1)The influence of different factors on the flow field in the mold is different.The influence of casting speed and depth of SEN is larger than that of rotation angle and bottom shape.(2)The steel temperature in mold increased significantly with the increase of casting speed.The depth of submerged entry nozzle and the rotation angle of nozzle only affects the liquid core size and distribution,but little effect on the steel temperature in the outlet of mold.(3)It will cause serious bias flow when SEN misalignment for mold,increasing the drift index in mold.Using the optimized nozzle will restraining bias flow when SEN misalignment for mold.(4)That confirms the optimization experiment of 600 mm continuous casting mold is: submerged entry nozzle with 5 excurrent pore,angle of nozzle port is 30 o,SEN has 1 bottom outlet,the casting speed is 0.3 m/min,the depth of SEN is 160 mm.
