More and more companies and institutes go into the area of ocean engineering. The research of the ocean engineering includes the designing and installing of the ocean platform. With several year research and application, the floatover method is considered as the most economic cost way to install the topside of ocean platform. Many researches about numerical simulation and model test investigation have been done. However, the works about the comparison the result of simulation and the result of monitoring have not been done.In this paper, the result of the numerical simulation and the motion monitoring are compared. The motions monitoring include the jacket transportation and the topside floatover process. Apart from the motions monitoring in the topside floatover process, the environment also be measured. The numerical simulations are done by using the MOSES code. The MOSES code is adopted to predict the motions of barge during the transportation. The maximum values of the roll and pitch appeared at the same time during the transportation. The motion of monitoring in the 45o and 135o wave directions meet the result of numerical simulation in the same sea states. The simulations of the floatover process mainly consider the stand by phase and the entry phase. The results of motions simulation meet the monitoring motions of a barge in these two phases. Environment loads are changed to analyse the sensibilities of the barge. The maximum values of the line forces and the significant value of the motions in these states are used to the sensibilities analysis. The comparison research in this paper can be used to guide the floatover installation of ocean platform and as a reference to other areas about the ocean engineering. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | floatover installation, numerical simulation, field measurement, jacket platform, MOSES, mooring system | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
