With the improvement of national economy and development of science and technology,high polymer material, represented by plastic,rubber goods and fibre products, has got a wide range of applications in daily life and play a more and more important role in people's life.Great convenience as it have brought,there are plenty of fire security hazard behind it.The reason why is that most of the high polymer material which is mainly composed by carbon and hydrogen is highly combustible as well as a rapid burning speed. At the same time,a large plume of smoke and toxic and harmful substance produced by the burning high polymer material do a huge damage to the ecological environment and people's health as well restrict its use.Thus the flame retardant polymers become the research hotspot around the world.This article systematically researches and develops a kind of boron-based environmental non-halogen flame retardant aimed at the industry of the flame-retardant polymers. Specific work and results as follows:Firstly,boric acid, pentaerythritol and melamine synthesized a set of acid source, carbon source gas as one of the boron intumescent flame, named as pentaerythritol boric acid ester melamine(PBEM).The reaction condition includes the molar ratio of raw materials,time and temperature.The results show that:the best conditions of esterification reaction is the boric acid and pentaerythritol as 1:1 in molar,8h in time and 110? in temperature;the best conditions of curing reaction is the PBE and MEL as 1:0.8 in molar,5h in time and 150? in temperature.The synthesis of flame retardants were characterized by IR and DTA.Secondly,flame retardants and low-density polyethylene(LDPE) were mixed by mass fraction,the products were tested by oxygen index,horizontal firing level and vertical firing level.The results show that:flame-retardant LDPE belongs to non-flammable material when the mass fraction of flame retardant greater than or equals to 20%, the oxygen index gets greater than or equals to 30.8%, horizontal firing level of HB and vertical firing level of V-0. the flame-retardant LDPE were tested by impact strength,bending property and tensile property.The results show thatthe highest impact strength and bending property are respectively 32.45KJ/m2 and 11.78MPa when the mass fraction of flame retardant equals to 20%,the highest tensile property is 9.83MPa when the mass fraction of flame retardant equals to 15%.The flame-retardant LDPE sections were scanned by SEM in the degree of dispersion,and flame retardant mechanism were analysed by flame-retardant LDPE combustion characteristics.Take retardant property and mechanical property into consideration,20% of the mass fraction of flame retardant in LDPE is the bast quantity. To sum up,a kind of boron-based environmental non-halogen flame retardant has a better thermal stability in LDPE,and flame-retardant LDPE has good flame resistance and mechanical property.
