As a material having the properties of nanomaterials and superhard materials,nanodiamonds has a wide range of applications in machinery, grinding, lubrication, polishing and bio-medical and other aspects because of its excellent properties of superhard properties,high surface area, a spherical shape. This topic mainly studys the broken preparation and surface modification of nanodiamond though laser particle detection method detection,infrared spectroscopy, zeta potential analysis, scanning electron microscopy analysis.Study on Preparation of Nano crushing diamond showed that milling time,milling media and ball milling method have a certain influence on the milling effect.It was found that nano-diamond effect with zirconia balls to get broken is better,we can achieve the desired nanoparticle size.Milling time also has a great impact on the crushing granularity.But milling time is not longer the better.Crushing granularity decreased from the first hour to the third hour,it began to increase in the fourth hour,because the diamond reunited seriously.As time increases,milling diamond size was going on a break- reunion- broken dynamic equilibriμm.Wet milling grain size is uniform, but it does not meet our requirements. Dry milling particle size distribution was wide, it could achieve the desired nanoparticle size.The experimental results obtained D50 of 595 nm diamond with zirconiμm ball dry grinding 3hours.Next, using a centrifuge to grade diamond powder prepared with zirconia balls. With a rate of 2000 r / min, grading the diamond whose particle size was less than 500 nm. Particle size of 60% of the content of the diamond is less than 144 nm.Study on the surface modification of nano-diamond showed that carboxylated nanodiamonds and aminated nanodiamond dispersion stability is better than no modified nanodiamond by sonication at different times and adding different types of surfactant.
