Induction bend is one of the indispensable components in the pipeline con struction, the induction bend manufacture technology is the most advanced, the most economical and best quality technology for small curvature radius of be nds. Many factors affect the quality properties of induction bend, the chemical components design of parent pipe, control technological parameter of induction heating are essential problems for induction bend manufacturing technology.In this paper, based on the 3rd West-East Gas Pipeline Project etc., X80 i nduction bent was studied, a selection of parent pipes made by different enterp rise for manufacturing induction bend, a group of manufacture index for X80 p arent pipe contained chemical components, metallographic structure and mechani cal properties was presented after chemical components, mechanical properties, metallographic structure and the again heating on pipe of effects were studied by the use of physical-chemical properties and thermal mechanical simulation a nalysis. Based on the induction bend pipe manufacturing experience of the Wes t-East Gas Pipeline Project and the Trans-Asia Gas Pipeline Project, a group o f manufacturing parameters for X80 induction bend was determined by a large induction bend machine of China Oil Pipeline Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd, X80 induction bend was successfully made. Test results showed that the p hysical-chemical properties, structure and size of X80 induction bend can meet the existing technical specification, selected of pipe wall thickness is10%~15% less than the existed pipe, thermal power output and thrust decrease accordingl y, electricity consumption greatly reduces and manufacturing cost savings. A se ries of key technical issues of manufacturing and heating technology of inducti on bend for X80 parent pipe was solved and ensures the 2ed and 3rd West-Ea st Gas Pipeline Project and other pipeline project implemented.
