This thesis studies current status of traffic noise prediction model applied home and abroad. We compares four highways based on different automobile flux, ratio, and traffic with three special models including FHWA model, specification 2006 and the noise guideline model of version 2009. And we also compare actual test result and prediction model estimated result, trying to find adaptation for these three models. The main study shows that: there is connection between noise and some reasons such as automobile flux, ratio, speed, especial for large car flux. And FHWA fits to the road with flat terrain or small height, and also has high prediction accuracy with the lower forecast traffic volumes. And for version 2006, it does not fit to calculate a road which is designed with lower speed and large traffic. Because we find our calculated speed is higher than designed speed and finally traffic noise result is found always higher than actual condition. And Ministry Guidelines 2009 version has a widely applicability in some areas with high temperature, humidity and height difference. Also, 2009 version has a better superiority in testing a traffic noise with higher green coverage. Therefore, the analysis results of applicability of various highway noise prediction methods in this thesis can play a certain reference role for future construction of highway noise evaluation of engineering, so as to reduce the time, improve the quality and efficiency of the project.
