The flow characteristic of the falling liquid film in the scrubbing-cooling tube is researched in this paper and the flow characteristics of the scrubbing-cooling water in the scrubbing-cooling tube are studied. A three-dimensional numerical simulation was performed to study the interior flow field, and the characteristics of fluid flow at different inlet angles were analyzed.The Ultrasound Doppler Velocimetry was adopted to measure the velocity and thickness distribution of the liquid film with non-instrusively at different circumferential, axial position, and the gas phase in the scrubbing-cooling tube. The Reynolds number ranged from 1.0× 104 to 3.1×104. The results show that when the Reynolds number is small, the speed of vertical falling film increase with increase of flow distance because of the effect of gravity. But when the Reynolds number is large, it decreases because the resistance becomes a dominant factor. After passing into the gas phase, the fluctuation of the fluid increases and the trend of the flow rate changes little. Both the velocity and thickness of the liquid film are largest at the 0° position, which leads to uneven thickness distribution and the separation of the local liquid film and the sharp increase of the liquid film thickness at the 8° and 16° positions. With the increase of Reynolds number, the average thickness of the liquid film increases. In addition, the increase of Reynolds number will make the liquid film more unstable.Through different inlet angle of scrubbing-cooling ring is simulated, it is found that the internal fluctuations in flow field increase with the tilt angle increase, generate some vortex and flow dead zone, and the impact force increase to the scrubbing-cooling ring. When the tilt angle increases to 45 degrees, higher velocity region has emerged, less momentum has lost, more energy has transfered.
