The water inrush accident caused by goaf water is more than 70% of the whole mine water inrush accident which cause serious water inrush accident and staffs and property loss. There are may small coal pits and abandoned mines which exists abundant goaf water in Shengli mine field. Because of the lack of relevant information about those not well managed mines, they became unknown goaf. To guarantee the safety in mining, it is necessary to infer the location, range, goaf water condition of unknown goaf and analyze the risk of goaf water above 10# coal seam.According to the information of those pits which is collected by inquiring and annlzing, calculation methods to infer mining range according to the mining amount and minimum recovery ratio of those pits are proposed and the possible mining range of every coal seam is inferred. Combining shafting and drifting with exposed condition by drilling underground, the mining condition of coal seam nearby is analyzed. By analyzing the information summary figure which is formed by summarizing all the relevant information comprehensively, the approximate range of goaf, goaf containing water and unmined area of 2#,6# and 10# coal seam is inferred. A method that judging the risk of goaf water acting on coal seam mining is proposed. The risk is divided into four classes:protolith permeation type, similar protolith permeation type, inrush type and inburst type and the definition and judging criterion of each type are proposed. According to the criterion, analyze the risk of goaf water of 2# and 10# coal seam acting on 10# coal seam mining. The analyzed results shows that:the risk of goaf water of 2# coal seam acting on 10# coal seam belongs to similar protolith permeation type and the risk of goaf water of 6# coal seam acting on 10# coal seam belongs to inrush type.The research results will offer important basis on mining safely and efficiently and the next prospecting of Shengli Mine and have important reference on coal mine mining which exists unknown goaf.
