In the metal cutting industry, especially in the field of aviation spare parts processing, high speed steel cutting tools and carbide cutting tools are the most widely used. The proportion of both is about 95% of the cutting tools market. Compared with the European and American countries, there is still a big gap in the manufacturing level of carbide cutting tools in China. In this paper, the related technologies was analyzed and studied.The content of this thesis includes:Selection of hard alloy material, tool structure design and modeling, processing technology research and tool passivation and coating. Then, different carbide materials were selected for different passivation and coating treatment. Finally, according to the difference of service life of cutting tools, the influence of material, passivation and coating on the service life of cutting tools were analyzed.The results show that the influence of various factors on the service life of the cutting tool is:the material, coating, passivation. After passivation and coating treatment, the service life of the tool is longer than that without the subsequent treatment. Using five axis CNC milling machine to process a blade surface which material is GH2***, the optimal combination scheme of the material and the subsequent treatment on carbide cutting tools is:the material selection is H10F, edge passivation radius is 15 microns, and TiAIN coating.By study of the subject, the performance of cemented carbide materials was verified, our company capacity of manufacturing carbide cutting tools was improved, cemented carbide tools cutting performance and service life were significantly improved. Cemented carbide cutting tools can be used to replace part of the import tools. This has a positive meaning for the enterprise to reduce cost, improve competitiveness and long-term development.
