Hydraulic support column is to achieve the main components of the support and bearing. Its quality is directly related to the merits of hydraulic support load conditions and work performance. Through field research found that column cylinder of hydraulic support bottom deformation after welding, leading to the situation have often occurred of column can not fall to the bottom when shrinking. Because of bottom and cylinder is the component of separate processing, need ways to join by welding, so for column cylinder’s easily deformed parts-cylinder and bottom for welding simulations.Firstly the paper give comprehensive exposition of the basic theory of column cylinder during welding temperature field and stress field, using Pro/E software to draw three-dimensional map of the column cylinder, added JMatPro analysis and calculation software in the parts of materials’ physical performance parameters so that provides ample theoretical basis. Then use ANSYS finite element analysis software to simulate the temperature field during the welding process. In the heat applied aspects, using the method of exerting heat source to the entire weld simultaneously. After several experimental tests, this method can also simulate the trends of welding temperature field and stress field distribution and reduce the calculation period greatly. Then using thermal-structural coupling function and indirect coupling method to obtain weld-seam welding residual stress distribution. By analysising of different time points’ residual stress and deformation cloud to get the column cylinder’s distribution trend and deformation characteristics of welding residual stress, and analysis results coincide with the actual conditions and theoretical data. Finally improving methods of controlling column cylinder’ welding deformation. Providing a reference for avoiding hydraulic support column cylinder occurring the situation that not drop in the end in the process of working.In this paper, the practical problems in the work site and finite element analysis method effective combination, establishing a viable three-dimensional temperature field, stress and deformation analysis of numerical simulation methods so that promoting the finite element analysis software’s practical application in the field of mechanical engineering.
