Along with the application of the high-power nonlinear power electronic devices, the power factor of supply network in coal mine gets lower and the harmonic increases. It is harmful to the state grid, so the development of the reactive power compensator in power quality is very important. Aimed at the problem of low power factor of coal mine power grid, this paper mainly puts forward a dynamic compensation device -- static var generator (SVG). The appearing of static var generator becomes a new revolution of modern static reactive power compensation device, because of its fast response, high control precision, dynamically continuous compensation and the superior performance of restraining the voltage fluctuation and flicker, it has become an important member in flexible ac transmission system (FACTS).Aimed at the static var generator in coal supply network, the thesis firstly introduces the basic structure and principle of compensation, secondly compared the several existing reactive current detection method, choses the Ip-Iq current detection algorithm based on the instantaneous reactive power theory. According to the contrast of existing several control methods, in view of complex load condition in the coal mine, the paper mainly discusses direct current control algorithm and designs the corresponding circuit model and system simulation respectively in SIMULINK. Compared with the indirect current control, it is verified that the control accuracy and response speed based on direct current control are greatly improved from the resulting waveform graph. In addition, this thesis designs the part of hardware circuit, mainly including the signal conditioning circuit, voltage and current signal sampling circuit, core controller DSP2812, and so on, software flow chart of direct current control was given out at the same time. Finally, on the basis of the load situation of qianqiu coal mine in Yima, Henan, the simulation of static var generator based on direct current control is built and the simulation experiment can be seen that it obtained a good compensation effect from the results of the simulation system.
