Wrinkling problem is one of the major factors influencing the forming precision of thin-walled sheet metal parts, wrinkling problem occurs frequently with the widely application of thin-walled sheet metal parts and also gets more and more attention. Based on the principle of YBT and viscous pressure forming, SUS304 stainless steel as the experimental material, the research on the process of eliminating wrinkling under viscous pressure forming has been carried out by using finite element analysis and experiment method in this paper. The deformation characteristics and the influence factors are found in the process of eliminating wrinkling.First of all, the experimental device is designed based on the principle of YBT. The concept of wrinkle elimination rate is defined by the evaluation of the wrinkles shape. The stress states are analyzed briefly and the deformation characteristics of wrinkles under different stress states are found in the process of eliminating wrinkling.Secondly, the finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA is used to analyse the process of eliminating wrinkling under viscous pressure forming, and the influence of viscous medium molecular weights to the process of eliminating wrinkling is found, also the influence of wrinkles shape and stress states to the process of eliminating wrinkling is identified.Finally, the theory and the finite element analysis have been verified by experiments, the feasibility of experiment device and the major factors of eliminating wrinkling under viscous pressure forming have been further verified. The results show that the experimental results and the theoretical analysis results are identical with each other.
