Focused on the deformation and failure of surrounding rock caused by excavating horizontal tunnel in the metal mine, this paper, based on the horizontal tunnel of Lanjiagou molybdenum mine, delves into failure mechanism and supporting structures of surrounding rocks, by means of theory analysis and numerical simulation.Firstly based on the summary of the influencing factor of stress field, by means of mechanical analysis and numerical simulation, Aimed at properties of structural plane of horizontal layered surrounding rock, the way how the distance between structural planes affect the stability of layered surrounding rock can be deducted by using RFPA,which is two dimensional numerical simulation software, and by analyzing stress distribution, strain and deformation, acoustic emission phenomena. According to the research results above, the way how supporting structure affects the stability of surrounding rock can be acquired by summarizing the traits of common supporting forms, also by analyzing such factors as the failure process of surrounding rock with and without supporting structure, strain and deformation, acoustic emission phenomena. Finally establish 3D model by MIDAS simulation software to simulate the typical sections of deep horizontal tunnel in Lanjiagou molybdenum mine, and study the variation of stress and strain of surrounding rock in initial support as well as supporting structural. The validity of supporting structure can be proved by site test. At for molybdenum provides the theory basis for roadway support, stable in order to ensure the safety of the production line, ensure the safety of mining exploitation.
