In this work, simple and low-cost method of TIG welding were used to AZ31B magnesium alloy coated with an active agent for welding. First, select the single metal oxides and rare earth oxides ?TiO2, CaO, Al2O3, Cr2O3, MgO, MnO2, Nd2O3, Y2O3, La2O3, CeO2? as an active agent, study the influence of coated with different active agents for the appearance of welded joints forming, deep width ratio, microstructure, micro-hardness, tensile properties. Then by selecting the better active agent ?Al2O3, MgO, Nd2O3, Y2O3?, using the uniform design method for formulation design and make organizational performance analysis to get the best magnesium alloy A-TIG welding active agent formulation.The results show that under the 100A welding current,340mm-min-1 welding rate,9L-min-1 Argon gas flow rate and 3mm tungsten length process parameters gets the best welding effect; detect welded joints coating with TiO2, CeO2, With the increase of the amount of coating, penetration of the two active agents decrease after increase, when the coating amount is 3.0mg·cm-2, it reaches its largest penetration depth; Al2O3?MgO?Nd2O3?Y2O3, these four penetration of active agent welded joint are relatively large, mechanical properties are relatively good; Compared with single agent coating microstructure of welded joints, the welded joint coating with composite active agent is obviously refined, its penetration and micro-hardness is greater than the single agent coating welded joints. The best formula is Y2O3?Nd2O3?Al2O3? MgO. Content percentage is 17.28%?7.24%?52.8%?22.68%. Aspect ratio is 0.425.
