Fused magnesia is a sort of super refractory material with high melting point, strong anti-oxidant and slag resistance, which is widely used in the field of aerospace, nuclear industry and metallurgy etc. During the smelting process, the frequent external disturbances and bad producing environment make it difficult to achieve reliable control effect with traditional manual operation. The application of PLC controller introduces automatic control to the fused magnesia furnace smelting process, but its ladder diagram programming method makes it difficult to realize the complex control algorithm of advanced control theory. Now a good solution for this problem has been provided by the application and popularization of the embedded controller.Embedded controller with respect to the PLC has stronger processing capacity and richer functionality, in which the special embedded operating system plays an important role. In order to guarantee the reliability of the control effect, the embedded operating systems generally have real-time performance. For the convenience of users and meet different application requirement, the controller manufacturers will provide users with supporting development tools to implement algorithm development and monitor. These advanced embedded technology can effectively solve the difficult implementation of complex algorithm in fused magnesia furnace control. However, the core technology embedded controller has been monopolized by foreign equipment manufacturers, expensive price and the characteristics of closed source hinder the embedded controller to be adopted in this kind of strict cost control system.This thesis is supported by national basic research program of China (973 Program, NO 2009CB320601). Take advantage of open source Linux operating system by completing design and development of special embedded operating system for fused magnesia furnace. Finally, verified the effcetive of special embedded operating system at the scene of industry.The main works of this thesis are as follows:(1) In-depth study of the principle and mechanism transform the standard Linux operating system in real time by RTAI. Complete real-time operating system building and system software tailoring.(2) Summarize three kinds of RTAI mechanism to design and develop the hardware device drivers, and complete the development of data acquisition card driver for the fused magnesia furnace controller with LXRT extension mechanism.(3) Design the special graphical interface of fused magnesia furnace controller with the combination of control requirements, complete the development of graphical interface with the function of monitor fused magnesia furnace smelting process use Qt/Embedded software framework.(4) Carried on the detailed function test and completed industrial field validation for the special embedded operating system.
