Due to the increasing number of car demand, and the formation of people’s awareness of security,environmental protection, more attention is focused on high strength steel. While the traditional cold stamping process is very difficult to form high strength steel, as a result, the hot stamping process has gained rapid growth. At present, extensive researches have been carried out both at home and abroad, and in order to realize the mass production, more and more hot stamping production line has been put into use. During the production process, people not only focus on the strength of car structure, also pay close attention to how to speed up the production, and reduce the cost.In this paper, the test object is a car’s B pillar. Starting from the hot stamping tool design, two kinds of design scheme are put forward. They are traditional hot stamping die and the one with counter punch. Firstly, by means of the finite element analysis method, the simulation result of the two schemes is carried out, to predict possible defects. By referencing the simulation, the die structure is improved, to reduce the local wrinkles. Secondly, the tool is manufactured to obtain the hot stamping parts, the comparison between the test result and simulation, and the comparison between the different schemes are carried out, to verify the validity of the finite element simulation and the effectiveness of the improved scheme.Different locations of the better solution are sampled to conduct tensile test, to gain tensile strength and yield strength, by comparing the test dada, to verify the even cooling and the effectiveness of the cooling system.On the other side, in order to speed up the hot stamping production, the simulation of flat die hot stamping process is carried out to validate the influence of tool temperature and pressure, to provide theoretical basis for fast production cycle of hot stamping production.
