The market have become increasingly demanding of stone products with the development of China's economy and stone industry, not only in its quality and quantity, but also in the stone culture. Stone products with lines can meet most of modern people's pursuit of differentiation by its beautiful and variety appearance, but the efficiency of the existing domestic equipment that process stone products with lines is low, and the high price of foreign advanced processing equipment don't suitable for the domestic enterprises. The CNC polishing machine for stone products with lines is an advanced machine, it can polish any kinds of lines in the stone products. In consequence, based on analyzing the demand and the status of stone products and stone processing equipment, research and design of CNC polishing machine for stone products with lines is of vital important, which focuses on improving the stone processing technology and quality of the stone surface. In addition, it will lead to a rapid expansion in stone industry.Several kind of processing methods and the formation mechanism of stone shiny surfaces is discussed. Various process parameters about stone polishing process that have influenced on the grinding force. The stone grinding force formula is defined by referring to research by scholars. The main technical parameters of the machine is determined by the result of market research and technical requirements. According to the top-down design principle, the best design of the overall structure is selected by multi-program comparison and analysis. And then the structures of the feeding and the spindle system is designed too.According to the selected scheme and the grinding force formula, detailed design of each part is conducted, which includes selection of gear, ball screw, linear guide, the motor and optimization of some other parts of the machine which is important.Finally, it's necessary to identify the inherent frequency of the machine by ANSYS to avoid the resonation. In detail, transient dynamics simulation of the machine is made to verify rationality of the design when there is a possible maximum deformation on the machine.
