| Special materials such as engineering plastics, engineering ceramics and corrosion resistant alloys are often used to be water friction materials for hydraulic components recently. These materials have good friction properties but there are also some limitations such as low-hardness, brittleness, severe wear under high-speed heavy load conditions, etc.. In order to overcome the drawbacks of these friction materials, albronze powder metallurgy(PM) infiltrated grease containing nano-C60 was prepared according to the porous nature of PM materials combined with the technology of copper-based self-lubricating and grease containing nanoparticles lubricating.Based on analysing the relationships among the main mechanical properties, permeability, powder particle size and porosity of albronze PM materials, CFD research were conducted to the impacts of the shape of the inlet, the applied pressure, porosity and viscosity of grease containing nano-C60 behaved as Bingham rheological properties on the flow characteristics in porous albronze PM with the Herschel-Bulkley model and Abid low Reynolds number k-ε turbulence model. According the CFD simulation results, a mean particle size 6-10μm of the albronze powder and appropriate sintering process was used to prepare albronze PM with different porosities, and then the organizational structure and mechanical properties were studied. The complex-aluminum-based grease and a certain ratio of C60 were chosen to prepare the grease containing nano-C60, on which the seepage characteristics in albronze PM matrix were researched.The simulation and and experimental results showed that, the porosity of albronze PM material should be controlled within 15% to 30% to meet the requirements of full penetration and the mechanical properties which decreased with increasing porosity. The seepage velocity increased as pressure, porosity increased and viscosity decreased. The porosity had the greatest effects on seepage velocity, viscosity second, and the applied pressure third, while the shape of the inlet had almost no effects on it. The method of albronze PM infiltrated by grease containing nano-C60 in this paper is feasible and can provide references for research on PM materials impregnated oil or grease in the future. |
