Heav y dut y and super heav y dut y CNC floor type boring and milling machine tool is the base machine tools for equipment manufacturing industr y, and it is widel y used in the applications of metallurgy, power, electric, shipping etc for large size and super large size component machining. The running accuracies of spindle box and ram are the major accuracies of the boring machine. It affects the machine working accurac y directly, and also it affects the machining component quality, restrict the industr y development. Improving the accurac y of spindle box and ram is the precondition for improving machine accurac y. This essa y will combine the structure feature of spindle box and ram to research the reason of error due to ram and spindle transformation during machining. And error compensation solution will be submitted for experimental demonstration. The following works will be described in essay.As per the characteristics of the working condition of spindle box and ram, the reason of errors during working can be anal yzed as: Deflection of boring spindle and ram, spindle box incline due to ram moving to bring the ram falling, and internal & external heat source lead to thermal deformation for spindle and ram. Against ram falling error, inspection compensation methods are proposed as three h ydraulic hoist points balancing system. Based on the mathematical model of ram position and pressure of compensation oil c ylinder, CNC system can compensate the ram falling during working.Against deflection of spindle, inspection compensation methods are proposed as building mathematical model for deflection and position of spindle to compensate b y CNC system.Against the internal and external thermal deformation during working, the ke y reason is the rotation of milling spindle. Analysis and inspection for major moving parts to build the mathematical model of thermal expansion and temperature rise to design the compensation plan.
