In the process of mining mineral resources, ventilation system has a very important significance for the mine safety production. As the demand for ore grows rapidly and the mining period and depth increase, it faces two problems:the calculation of complex ventilation network and how to supply air to deep mine economically. Based on Hongtoushan Mine as an example, the solutions are proposed in the paper.By the analysis of relevant literature to study the mine ventilation theory, Hongtoushan Mine ventilation system 3D models with over 8700,120km long airways has been established with Ventsim software. There is air leakage in shallow mine that needed to strengthen airtight by the test on fans in different states. In addition, the deviation of simulation results and experimental results is less than 6%. It proves that the the model is accuracy. Then the feasible improved plans are put forward about deep mine ventilation system. By solving, it is determined that the ventilation efficiency of optimal solution reaches 71.5%.So far, Hongtoushan Mine has reached 1300m. For this deep mining, the technology of the controlled recirculation of air was adopted to solve the problem of deep mine blast.In Hongtoushan Mne controlled recirculating air system, mixing airflow quality conforms to the relevant state regulations. And the system will reduce energy consumption by 32.1%.Ventsim 3D simulation system has played a crucial role for the calculation and optimization of mine ventilation network and provides a reliable scientific basis for the ventilation management. The technology of the controlled recirculation of air has a good energy saving effect in deep mines and good application prospects.
