Motorized spindle is the core parts of the high-speed machine tool, the spindle unit plays a decisive role for the whole NC machine performance. The temperature rise and thermal deformation of motorized spindle are the main factors that affecting its performance. Temperature field distribution is the foundation of the motorized spindle design. The temperature field distribution for different types of motorized spindle are different. So a detailed analysis on motorized spindle temperature field distribution is very important. In this paper, put ceramic motorized spindle and metal motorized spindle as the main research objects, and analysis the temperature field distribution of different types of motorized spindle, at the same time it provides theoretical basis for motorized spindle optimization design.This paper builds up finite element analysis model about 170SD30 ceramic motorized spindle and 150MD24Z7.5 and 150MD24Y20 metal motorized spindle.At the same time it analysis the heating mechanism and the heat transfer mechanism of the motorized spindle, and measures loss of motorized spindle with the existing motorized spindle dynamometer device, calculates the heat generation rate of the rotor, stator and the bearing, as well as cooling rates in different parts, then puts the heat generation rate and cooling rate on the finite element mode. At last, the simulation analysis gets different types of motorized spindle temperature distribution and temperature change rule.This Paper builds an experimental platform for the temperature measurement of motorized spindle, based on the motorized spindle dynamometer device. Gets the relevant data about motorized spindle shell temperature, Then gets the motorized spindle shell temperature distribution about 150MD24Z7.5,150MD24Y20 metal motorized spindle through the fitting analysis for experimental data. It verifies the correctness of the simulation results. It got that running time is the main factors influencing the motorized spindle temperature distribution with the analysis of the orthogonal experiment method.This paper finally studies the effect when the gap between the stator and rotor of motorized spindle are different or oil-lubricated air flow are different or bearing clearance are different on temperature rise of motorized spindle, then find ways to reduce heat calories and increase cooling rate.In this paper, research has shown that:Different motorized spindles have different temperature distribution. The spindle material, load, speed and running time has large effect on its temperature rise for the motorized spindle. All that provide a theoretical basis for motorized spindle to the development of high-precision and high speed and high power and high torque and high reliability.
