Halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) is a kind of cheap natural nanotubes,it becomes thehots pot in research of international material materials because of its advantages ofeasy modification, good biocompatibility. Halloysite nanotubes have a certainsimilarity with carbon nanotubes in structural morphology. HNTs can be potentialalternative materials of carbon nanotubes in some areas. Existing research shows thatHNTs can strengthen the material performance and also be excellently used in thephysical adsorption, storage, transport, catalytic and electrochemical energy storageareas. However, there is less theory studies on halloysite nanotubes compared withcarbon nanotubes and its application field need expanding. This paper?using halloysite nanotubes as the research object?exploredabsorption efficacy in the field of adsorption desulfurization. The study found thatHNTs show good desulfurization performance. the surface hydroxyl of halloysitenanotubes, specific surface area, surface acidity and pore size affect its adsorptiondesulfurization effect. To explore influence of halloysite nanotubes aperture on its desulfurizationeffect,we prepared the halloysite nanotubes (suspected kaolin nanotubes) ofdifferent diameter, and measured the adsorption desulfurization of these halloysitenanotubes.the result shows that prolonging splittings can reduce the diameter ofhalloysite nanotubes and halloysite nanotubes with smaller diameter has higherdesulfurization effect.
