Porous stainless steel as a new type of material, with the superior performance andunique structure is widely used in aviation, aerospace, energy, construction, machineryand high-tech fields such as chemical engineering,The preparation and performance ofthe porous stainless steel has attracted more and more concern of researchers. The powder metallurgy method is applied to prepare the porous stainless steel,The orthogonal experiment was adopted to determine the optimal process parameters, the influences of pore-forming agent and process parameters on the pore structure andproperties were investigated. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM), opticalmicroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) were used to observe and characterthe microstructure and properties of porous stainless steel specimens. The conclusiveresults can be sum up as the following:(1)The orthogonal test results showed that the maked significant factors whichinfluence the testing process are: urea content, sintering temperature, pressing pressureand urea size.(2) The suitable pressing pressure of250~300MPa, addition amount of apore-forming agent5%~25%, the sintering temperature is1200?. When the amount ofpore-forming agent is increased, the porosity of the sintered sample obtained it willincrease the temperature of the sintering temperature is more appropriate for theanalysis of the obtained1200?, when the temperature exceeds1200?, the sinteredbody is likely to cause densification mechanism to hold a dominant role in the sampleporosity decreases. Stress factors suppress the formation of porous green specimenporosity less influence in choosing the right packing condition, porosity with increasing compaction pressure decreases after the first upward trend, suitable for stainless steelpowder the pressing pressure is250~300MPa.(3) For the purpose of the porosity of the porous stainless steel of different sampleswith larger porosity, the smaller the maximum tensile stress, and the tensile propertiesbecome poor. Obtain a dense metal loop through experimental study analyzed theantioxidant properties of high-temperature oxidation than the excellent properties ofporous metal, porous samples when oxidation temperature is700?, its superiorantioxidant capacity than the sample at900?. As the porosity increases, the hardnessof the porous sample decreases.
