With the development of industrial technology, large plate more widely appliedinlarge welded structures in the. The traditional welding method in welding thickplate due to the cross-sectional area of the groove, has low production efficiency,material consumption, low efficiency, poor welding quality problem. The narrowgap welding on thick plate welding, using I type groove of small area, highproduction efficiency, less consumption, welding residual stress and deformationissmall and many other advantages. Narrow gap welding techniques of research onpromoting plays an important role in promoting the large welding structure parts.Based on the above purpose, in this paper, the optimization design of swing arcnarrow gap GMAW welding technology, two key techniques of narrow gap GMAW,namely the droplet transfer and weld formation rule of law.GMAW welding is a welding wire to the droplet to the groove to form weldprocess, therefore the droplet transfer will not only have an impact on the formationof weld, also will affect the stability of welding process. In this paper, using thehigh-speed camera system and current and voltage acquisition system, analysis ofthe swing arc narrow gap GMAW droplet transition rules. First, analyzes theinfluence rule of swing arc on the droplet transfer, and then analyze the swing arcnarrow gap droplet transfer characteristics; by the collection of the welding currentwith the mechanism of droplet force model analysis of swing arc narrow gapwelding droplet transfer periodic variation; analysis of welding parameters (weldingcurrent, wire feed speed, swing, swing speed) effects on the droplet transfer.Weld directly affects the mechanical properties of the welding joints, and thewelding parameters and the swing parameters would have an important impact onthe weld forming. First analysis of welding arc narrow gap GMAW formingcharacteristics, based on the analysis of parameters of wire feed speed, weldingspeed, the side wall of residence time, swing on the influence of the weld seam,finally obtained the reasonable welding parameters interval, and lay the foundationfor the narrow gap welding to welding.
