The rapid development of 3DGIS has promoted the development of geographic information system in public application.The most representative is the 3DGIS application in the digital city and digital campus.As a relatively small area application of digital city,digital campus has also been a long-term development,improving the management efficiency of campus managers and enhancing the participation of teachers and students in decision-making.It also plays a positive role for the external display and giving publicity,thus facilitating the production and life of teachers and students.In this paper,the creation of virtual campus system is based on the new campus of Henan Polytechnic University.First,according to the virtual campus system needs analysis,we make the overall system design and technical route to determine the specific system implementation steps.Then,we focus on the campus three-dimensional model creating,optimizing and the specific system functions development.Therefore,the system function includes basic campus roaming,spatial query,spatial measurement,also the detailed analysis,design and implementation of the integration of indoor and outdoor path query and visibility analysis.The specific system implementation work is as follows:(1)The spatial data,texture data,remote sensing image data and attribute data are preprocessed with data processing software AutoCAD,Photoshop and ArcGIS.(2)We utilize the 3D modeling software Sketchup and the processed data to create and optimize the campus three-dimensional model,and then combine Visual Studio2010 with EV-Globe SDK to initialize virtual campus system.(3)Towards the complexity characteristic of traditional visual field calculation method,we better the traditional method to improve the efficiency and integrate it into the system.(4)On the basis of the initialized system,we make the campus roaming,attribute query,spatial measurement.The outdoor shorest path algorithm is extended to the indoor and outdoor integration path query,thus expanding the application scope.Also the experiment demonstrates the correctness and facility for the indoor and outdoor integration path query.
