The wire-mesh tomographs now has been widely used in the studies of mixing of multiphase flow and single-phase flow,because of its high spatial and temporal resolution.Such as the measurements of void fractionbubble size and phase volume fraction.For the study of this paper,we designed a WMS with a size of 16 X 16,a spatial resolution of 4mm,a spacing of 2mm between two layers and a data acquisition of 200Hz.Then some key factors of the WMS are discussed theoretically in this paper and also studies the cross-mixing characters of single-phase fluids flow in rectangular channel by the self-designed and validated WMS.The working medium is deionized water and KCl,which the deionized water is as a reference fluid and KCl is as a tracer fluid.Separately studied the mixing of several conditions under two different tracer-fluid-injection styles.Including the distribution of conductivity at the cross-section,the diffusion radius of tracer fluid,the jump of maximum conductivity or concentration of KCl and the measurement of dimensionless factor,etc.This paper also has carried on the CFD numerical simulation under experimental conditions,which can verify the accuracy of experimental results.Including the establishments of physical model and mathematical model;and initialization of boundary conditions.Then the simulation results are analyzed and concluded.Comparing the experimental results and simulation results,we found the the experimental results are basically consistent with the numerical simulation results,indicating the feasibility of the experiment and simulation.
