Map has always been an important tool for us to cognize the environment since it appears.In the 21 st century,the traditional paper map can't meet people's requirements any more,the new electronic map relying on computer technology begins to embark on the stage of history,and plays an increasingly important role.In the context of the computer age,products related to electronic maps appear,and their forms constantly update.But no matter how they change,they will not change as cognitive tool to help us.The way that spatial information got by visual perception was passed to the human after the analysis of brain stay unchanged.Therefore,the design of electronic map must base on the user's visual information amount.As the main form of visualization for geospatial data,the electronic map provides a better form of performance for the map's performance area and content level.However,the difficulty of making the map is greatly increased,because there is a difference between the user's habits and the map presentation,the balance must be achieved so that the user get the greatest visual harvest,so the concept of multi-scale representation of electronic maps is proposed.For different scales and mapping areas,the details of the data describing the ground information are different.The larger the scale and the smaller the area,the more details will be reflected on the map,and the information will be richer;On the contrary,the ground information that will be more abstract,in this way,the balance will be achieved between the amount of information and the clarity of the map.As an important geographical feature,the road is an important reference for traffic trips,and it is also an important research content of multi-scale representation of electronic map.However,there are few studies on the multi-scale representation of the road,in this context,this paper carries out relevant research,hoping to support the multi-scale representation of the road.The main research contents are as follows:1.The research status of multi-scale representation of electronic map and spatial data multi-scale transformation are summarized in this paper.From the point of view of the establishment of a database and map generalization,under the analysis of key technical details,the problems are found,and then the content of this study and ideas are determined.2.The concept and theory of scale correlation are introduced,and the existing multi-scale transformation modes are summarized,and then,their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed.On this basis,the scheme of multi-scale representation of road network between adjacent base scale is proposed.3.Road classification by matching in the progress of multi-scale transformation is studied.By analyzing the features between adjacent scale data,they will be clarified through spatial data matching technology and then they will be handled by the classification so that the multi-scale transformation of spatial data is further refined.4.The method of road selecting in the progress of multi-scale transformation of road network is studied.Classify the road data through matching technology,and then select the road data according to their own category to ensure the selecting of intermediate scale data is more reasonable.5.The simplification method and interpolation method of the road in the progress of multi-scale transformation of road network are studied.According to their own category,road data are simplified or generated in different methods so that the representation of road data of intermediate scale is more reasonable.
