| In recent years,the success of US “shale gas revolution” has led to a rapid development of tight oil exploration and production.With the continues growth of American tight oil production,it gradually accounts for a significant share of the total crude oil production in USA.China has an abundant tight oil resource,its exploration and production is still at the early stage.Study of the global tight oil resource potential and practice of tight oil exploration and production in other counties has a great significance for tight oil exploration and development in China.Based on the assessment results of different research institutions,this study analyzed the mixture of the tight oil resource and its potential,discussed the relationship between convention oil and tight oil distribution with a comprehensive comparison and statistical approach.The study results indicate:(1)The total global tight oil resource amounts to 63.6 billion tons,including a resource potential of 62.8 billion tons and a cumulative production 0.8billion tons.The North America has the largest tight oil potential of 19.6 billion tons.In terms of country distribution,the USA has the largest share of the tight oil potential of 12.77 billion tons and it hosts20.3% of the total.The West Siberian Basin is most rich in tight oil and holds a tight oil potential of 10.18 billion tons,making up 20.3% of the total.(2)The rift basin is the basin type with the largest share of the tight oil resource.This type of basins contain approximate 23.54 billion tones,making up 37.0% of the total.Although marine tight rocks contain 86.6% of the total tight oil resource,lacustrine tight rocks have a higher richness of tight oil resource.Stratigraphically,the Jurassic and Cretaceous host the lion’s share of the tight oil resource,which accounts for 61.9% of the total.(3)In USA,tight oil accumulations often coexist with conventional oil accumulations.However,there is no a positive correlation between the tight oil reserve and conventional oil reserve in a given basin. |
