Extraction of geological information by remote sensing technology is characterized with timeliness, large area of observation and objective data. With the improvement of spatial and spectral resolution, more abundant geological information may be extracted from remote sensing images. The change of surface physical and chemical environment caused by micro-seepage of oil and gas can lead to abnormal response to remote sensing, thus, the hydrocarbon micro-seepage area may be identified from remote sensing image, which provides an approach to oil and gas exploration, especially in the low-exploration region. The remote sensing abnormal response of hydrocarbon micro-seepage is summarized in the thesis. As a case study,Landsat 8 OLI image covering Marsel exploration area is used to extract information related to micro-seepage of oil and gas.First, remote sensing images are preprocessed, and atmospheric correction is employed with FLAASH method. Then, based on the analysis of spectral characteristics of different rocks,an appropriate false-color composition,i.e.R: 4/2 7/6,G: 6/5,B: 4/2 is adopted to enforce the difference of different lithology in the study area. The temperature distribution of the study area is reversed from remote sensing image by the radiative-transfer-equation based method.Subsequently, the Crosta and SAM methods are adopted to extract information of mineral alteration related with hydrocarbon micro-seepage.Finally,a comparison between the extracted information by remote sensing technology and that interpreted by seismic data is presented. The results show an obvious correlation between temperature abnormal and seismic interpretation, and the correlation is also noticeable between alteration information extracted by Crosta method and seismic interpretation.
