| As an important channel connecting the East China Sea and the South China Sea,the Taiwan Strait is affected by complex hydrodynamic conditions. The composition, distribution, and transport of suspended particulates also have complex characteristics. The composition, distribution, and transport of suspended particulates also have complex characteristics.Through field experiment of two voyages in July and August 2012,the observed data includes the temperature, salinity, fluorescence, depth of the profile, and the volume concentration of suspended particulates and the velocity of flow.the mass concentration and POC and PN of suspended particles is obtained by water samples。Analyze and summarize the hydrodyna mic conditions, hydrological characteristics, distribution of suspended particulates, migration, and calculation of related parameters for the two voyages.(1)In the summer, the Taiwan Strait is under the control of the south wind, and the flow direction of the entire water column is more consistent with the northeast direction. The transport of suspended particulate matter is mainly affected by the flow of water and is transported towards the northeast.(2)Both voyages are statically stable and the first voyage has significant stratification. The second voyage observed a high saline water intrusion into the middle layer of the water column.(3)The distribution of suspended particles in two voyages was affected by different factors. The first voyage was mainly affected by hydrodynamic conditions, and suspended particles were mainly distributed in the bottom and middle. The second voyage is affected by the mixing and biological action of water masses.Larger particles of suspended particles are distributed in the middle layer, and smaller, immediate suspended particles are mainly distributed in the bottom layer.(4)The suspension of large particles contributes most of the volume concentration content, while the small particles of suspended particles have higher mass concentration and relative density. At the same time,smal-size suspended particles contain more organic matter. |
