The genus Campylotropis Bunge belongs to subtribe Lespedezinae of the tribe Desmodieae(Leguminosae). It comprises 37 species around the world, mostly in temperate zone of Asia,32 species(20 endemic)6 subspecies 6 variety species in China.Southwest of China is the modern distribution center of Campylotropis.Intraspecific and interspecific of Campylotropis exist the characteristics of large unbalanced development evolution, variation, instability, and cross connection, therefore it's difficult to clearly divided different subgenus, section, series within Campylotropis. There is little research on the systematics study of Campylotropis, which remains to further study. In this study, phylogenetic relationships of 76 samples representing 38 taxa of Campylotropis and closely related genera were reconstructed using Maximum parsimony(MP)and maximum likelihood(ML)analyses of sequence data from two chloroplast(rpl32-trnL and trnL-F)one nuclear(ITS)DNA regions. In this paper, monophyly problem, phylogenetic relationships within Campylotropis and among related genera were discussed. Our results suggested that Campylotropis,Kummerowia, and Lespedeza are monophyletic, respectively.Lespedeza is resolved as sister to Kummerowia and these two together are further sister to Campylotropis. The study of the molecular phylogenetic tree and morphological characters of Campylotropis were consistent. Both are difficult to make a valid division of the subordinate rank of Campylotropis.Although the large clades were not well supported in the phylogenetic tree of Campylotropis, the small clades were well supported(both MP and ML).The relationship between species was clear, which was consistent with the morphological characteristics on small clade. The nuclear and chloroplast markers showed incongruent phylogenetic signals at shallow-level phylogeny, which may point to either introgression or incomplete lineage sorting in Campylotropis.
