Movement is the basic characteristics of animals, many animals have superior athletic ability. This superior ability comes from the perception of movement and the real-time control of motion.Gekko gecko,as the research object of this paper, has excellent athletic ability and can move on the horizontal and vertical plane, even the inverted ceiling. The study of Gekko gecko is the basis for revealing its excellent athletic ability. The acquisition and analysis of animal primitive EMG signal is another important work in the study. The simultaneous test of the EMG signal, the mechanical signal and the motion state during the movement of Gekko gecko provides the basis for the study of the athletic ability of the crawling animal. The main work and results of the paper are as follows:The electromyography signal acquisition and storage device is developed for free-moving animals. The size of the whole device is 40 mm × 25 mm × 6.3mm(length × width × height),and the weight is 15.8g(the weight of the battery without the battery is 6.1 g).The collected EMG signals are displayed and stored as waveforms in LabVIEW.The method of simultaneous testing of EMG signal, mechanical signal and motion state is proposed. The signal in electromyography acquisition system, mechanical data acquisition system and motion state acquisition system is synchronized by achieving the absolute time in the host computer system and the video signal. The electromyography signal, the mechanical signal and the motion state of Gekko gecko on different bevels are tested by the EMG acquisition device, the three-dimensional force test platform and the camera. The results show that the electric discharge intensity of the quadriceps flexor is added with the increase of slope. The analysis of the mechanical data shows that the contribution of the forefoot to the sharing of the moving load is gradually reduced form the horizontal to 60 °.On the contrary, the contribution of the rear foot is gradually increased.
