Remote sensing technology has been widely used in geological mapping by domestic and foreign scholars and geologists because of its macro, comprehensive, timeliness and less restrictive to get information. It has become the basic technical means of geoscie nce research and geological prospecting. However, the study of predecessors stays in the bedrock exposed area, and there is little research on the coverage area, especially in the loess coverage area, which is widely distributed in the northwest of China. At present,China is carrying out the pilot project of geological mapping of loess coverage area, remote sensing as one of the important technical means, the exploration of its new method has become an urgent problem to be solved. In this paper,Landsat 8 OLI / TIRS,SPOT 6 satellite imagery,DEM and field measured spectrum were used as data sources in the Loess coverage area of northern Baoji. The construction of structural interpretation signs and the forecast of coal field and goaf are the key research objects.Through a series of remote sensing image processing, information extraction and mathematical statistical model analysis method, the structural interpretation of the loess coverage area and the coal mine mineral prediction are completed, and the application range of the remote sensing technology in the geological mapping of the coverage area is extended,The application of the study provides a new way of thinking. The specific research contents and achievements are as follows:1?The remote sensing images,DEM,topographic maps, geological maps, field measured spectrum and mineral distribution data of different scales in the study area were collected, and the selection rules of images and data were discussed. At the same time, the data were pretreated by the appropriate method. In addition, the surface temperature inversion of the study area is completed. The results show that the single channel temperature inversion method can obtain better inversion accuracy in the coverage area.2?In view of the difficult problem of the construction of the structural interpretation signs of the coverage area, the study is carried out from three aspects:(1)Through the analysis of image index and principal component analysis, the hue, texture and saturation of the image of the coverage area are enhanced, and the direct interpretation sign is strengthened from the front.(2)Analyze the relationship betwee n the water system pattern and the structure distribution in the coverage area, and highlight the important role of the indirect interpretation signs in the interpretation of the coverage area.(3)Starting from the essential feature of loess cover, from the statistical point of view of the regression analysis, the relationship between ground temperature anomaly and tectonic distribution is studied. Moreover, the relationship is proved quantitatively between the temperature and the distance around the structure, which provides a solution to the problem that the construction of the interpretation signs of the coverage area is difficult. Finally, this study completed the structure interpretation and analyzed the basic structure features of the study area.3?The method of extracting coal-bearing strata by spectral angle + geothermal anomaly division were used to predict the coal field and goaf in the study area.We found a goaf through a preliminary field verification, which shows that the method is effective. At the same time, five important anomaly prediction areas are given for further verification.
