Adaptive optics(AO)system is used in most of the large ground-based astronomical telescope system to acquire the high-resolution image. In the observation process, there are many reasons lead the AO system not to be closed-loop,such as the target is weak, the wavefront information is missing, the atmospheric turbulence is too large and so on.Under these circumstances, the system can't run automatically,so the researchers with rich professional knowledge are asked to control the AO system to work in real time. Therefore,it is a key link to improve the efficiency of the AO system and to expand its application range by studying the automatic operation of the AO system,so that it has certain artificial intelligence and reducing the dependence on the professional operators. For the needs of current large-scale ground-based telescope and AO system's development, the following three aspects are studied in this paper surrounding the automatic closed-loop technology which is the key factor of the automatic operation of AO system.Firstly,This paper presents an improved approach based on template matching and threshold processing to detect the sub-spot,it could judge whether there is spot in sub-aperture self-adaptively,not only do we give the detailed implementation of the detection algorithm, but also test it with the reality observed images.Secondly,we analysis the influence of each subaperture of the Hartmann array lens lacking of light on the closed-loop of the AO system, and the weight matrix is given, which achieve a quantitative assessment for the influence of each subaperture that there is no spots in it on closed-loop of adaptive optics system.Based on the previous works,an algorithm for automatic closed-loop judgment of AO system based on the influence threshold of spot lacking of light is proposed, besides, the selection of influence threshold is studied from the empirical value and machine learning apart.Through the experimental analysis, the accuracy and feasibility of algorithm are validated effectively. In this paper,an intelligent judgment method for automatic closed-loop of AO system based on the spot energy distribution of Hartmann array lens is proposed, compared with the traditional AO system, the introduction of the algorithm will liberate the researchers from the repetitive work,at the same time,it has important significance for the intelligent operation of adaptive optical system.
