This paper studied the uplift and exhumation history of the South-western Tianshan Mountain and the middle of Western Tianshan Mountains, using the apatite fission track dating technique, combined with the temperature time to retrieve the uplift and exhumation process. In the different tectonic units in Xinjiang since the Mesozoic, there are uplift exhumation events.Apatite Fission tract dating and thermal history modeling have been carried out from 16 granite samples collected from Huoshibulake and Baleigong and Duku road to investigate the uplifting-exhumation processes of mountains.Fission-track ages for South-western Tianshan samples range from 63.2±4.7~67.6±4.3Ma with mean track lengths varying from 13.54±0.11~14.15±0.09 ?m.Fission-track ages for middle of western Tianshan samples range from 48.8±3.1~81.6±4.9Ma with mean track lengths varying from 12.72±0.17~13.73±0.14?m.The time for rapid cooling events on south-western Tianshan mainly concentrated during 65 ~ 80 Ma,and the time for middle part of west Tianshan mainly concentrated during 70 ~90Ma.Both in the Cenozoic era of 10 Ma has also experienced a rapid uplift until now.In combination with other geological evidence,it is suggested that the south-western Tianshan appear differential uplift and exhumation process in late Cretaceous. This event can be controlled by multi-factor.The main control factor are related to the thermal-rheological structures and different structural boundaries interaction. However, the dynamic mechanism of the whole Cenozoic uplift is not clear, and should be studied by scholars.
