With the deep development of the world oil and gas exploration,the fractured reservoir has been becoming one of the current hot research fields.The fractured reservoir 's exploration and development is depended on its identification and the accurate description and prediction.Geological features such as faults,channels and cra cks are the basis on performing and describing reservoirs in fractured reservoirs.They are the root cause of control petroliferous basins in a variety o f geological process and oil and gas produces,migration,accumulation,bulk and distribution.They not only can be used as hydrocarbon migration pathways,but also can block the surface for hydrocarbon accumulation,thus the fine identification of faults and fractures becomes a key factor in identification of fractured reservoirs.Seismic attribute analysis can extract the hidden useful information from the seismic data to depict geological characteristics.After decades of development,the number of seismic attributes might be hundreds and the classification is diverse.In many of the seismic attributes,we mainly study the geometrical attributes which is usually related to the seismic horizon's geometry and effective in characterize the geological bodies' outline,structure and fractures.On the basis of studying the geometrical attributes such as coherent and curvature,this paper improved some algorithms and analyzed azimuth curvature and curvature gradient and using them in processing actual data.Because of the existing random noise and narrow band problems in post-stack seismic data,it's necessary to take a pretreatment to the seismic data before the attribute extraction.Structure-oriented filtering is used to suppress noise and the Gabor deconvolution is used to improve seismic resolution.The geometrical attributes obtained from preconditioned seismic data can make the identification and characterization of the fault zone.
