In the field of seismic signal analysis and interpretation,wavelet transform has been the focus and hot spot in the research,and there have appeared a lot of time-frequency analysis methods which are similar to wavelet transform,either they are based on the wavelet for further improvement,or they combine wavelet with other methods.From the continuous wavelet transform,the three parameters of wavelet transform to the S transform,even the generalized S transform,all are developed based on the wavelet transform,and actually also proves that when use these methods to analyse the signal,the effect of time-frequency is better and better,the resolution of time-frequency is higher and higher.But in order to meet the higher requirements,there appeared a new method that combined wavelet transform with the time-frequency spectrum rearrangement,which is synchrosqueezing wavelet transform.In this paper,firstly we have studied the principle of the synchrosqueezing wavelet transform,and analyzed the relevant properties of the algorithm,such as stability and invertibility,which has proved that the reconstruction error of the model signal is very small.Secondly we have studied the related parameters of the algorithm which affect the results of the time-frequency analysis,such as the mother wavelet,the parameter selection of the mother wavelet and wavelet threshold.Through the discussion,we generally choose the Morlet wavelet when to analyze the seismic signal.And the center frequency is larger,the ability of instantaneous frequency recognization is stronger.Also,the suitable wavelet threshold can restrain the interference of noise effectively.Therefore,a reasonable setting of these parameters will enhance the application of the synchrosqueezing wavelet transform greatly.Finally,aiming at the shortcomings of using the synchrosqueezing wavelet transform to analyze the signal which the rate of instantaneous frequency is not zero,the generalized synchrosqueezing wavelet transform is proposed.Due to the parameters is based on the characteristics of the signal to determine,so its application isn't wide.Respectively using continuous wavelet transform,three parameters of wavelet transform,S transform and the synchrosqueezing wavelet transform to analyze the analog signals and real signals.By comparing the analysis,the advantage of the synchrosqueezing wavelet transform is appeared.Finally,we study the amplitude response and frequency response characteristics of the thin layer.Because they respectively depict the characteristics of the reflected signal from time domain and frequency domain,and the time-frequency technique just have the properties of them.Therefore,the synchrosqueezing wavelet transform is applied to the instantaneous spectral analysis for the thin interbed.Through the analysis of the seismic data,the application effect of this algorithm is demonstrated.
