Based on investigation and research at home and abroad in neutron chopper research experience,this thesis firstly undertook the design and calculation of the rotor and validation test,including the chopper rotor disc design and model test.Secondly,to ensure good operation of the chopper,the mechanical strength of the coating absorption of neutron was both theoretically and experimentally investigated and tested.Vacuum test for the working environment of the chopper was also performed.On the basis of these,a suitable servo motor was selected,and the principle prototype system of the neutron chopper was built.Related work of the dynamic balance and the phase accurate control were carried out.Key aspects of the study were rotor design and manufacturing research,obtaining useful data,laying a good foundation for the future research.Thus a neutron chopper principle prototype was completed.After detailed dynamic balance and phase control,the chopper wave can reach to stable operation at 50 Hz,basically meet the accuracy requirements of ±0.1°.
