With the rapid development of DNA sequencing technology,more and more species have been completed whole genome sequencing.Therefore,at the whole genome level,identification and study of the classification of gene families,sequencing characteristics,evolution characteristics and prediction molecular function have become an important biology issues and research methods which need to focus on.This article focused on Pentatricopeptide repeat proteins(PPR)gene of plants.This gene family is one of the largest family of plant genome(percentage of the total number of genes,1-2%),and has the diversity influence of plant phenotype,special directional binding ability,the molecular mechanisms of target genes and potentially huge biological engineering application value.In recent years,it's attracting a large number of researchers from different angles and ways to study the gene family.Identification gene and protein structure domain would naturally become a top priority for further other researches.As a large number of plant genome data has been published,accurate,automatic,efficient prediction method becomes a much-needed research part.Precise identification method and results can directly affect gene family's comparative analysis and target gene prediction.In this study,first of all,use the bioinformatics method to accurately and efficiently identify PPR family genes and their internal level of sequence structure from the 18 representative plant genomes.Then,use comparative genomics,molecular developmental system to compare the structure of PPR gene and the protein structure domain characteristics,sequence change,and the evolution of gene families and so on.The first target in this study is,in a wide range of plants,provide the most comprehensive and reliable of PPR gene,protein structure contained domain annotation information for the researchers in this domain;then show such basic situation of gene families and the number of distribution,gene structure,sequence characteristics and evolution;at the same time,expect to explain why the PPR family in higher plants has a high copy number;finally,combining the above analysis,the results,further speculated that contains the molecular biological significance role.Deep understanding of the protein family and at the same time discussing the origin and evolution of the protein family,clearly defining the purpose of the selection pressure and the expansion of PPR protein family are useful for further study of molecular functions,and as a control target gene expression tool can be applied to provide the reference in the field of biotechnology.Results: established a highly efficient and accurate bioinformatics identification pipeline.Through the comparative analysis,find the gene family in the field of the whole plant rapid inflation,but unexpectedly,PLS,E1 and E2,E +,DYW subfamily only exist in higher plants.Through between species,species within the gene family of comparative analysis,we can delineate the possible evolution route of PPR gene families.Also uncover the possible cause of the rapid expansion in the gene family: reverse transcription of the gene copy,and then produce a large number of single copy exons.
