Sawayaerdun peripheral Pb-Zn-Ag polymetallic ore district,distributed in western segment of South Tianshan orogenic belt that is an intersection part of northern margin of Wuluqiati-Maidan-Ku'ate Paleozoic rift,is one of the small and medium-sized Pb-Zn-Ag polymetallic deposits in Au-Sb-Pb-Zn-Ag-RM-REE-Mn-Fe bauxite mineralization belt.Ore bearing formation,metallogenic mechanism.metallogenic regularity and metallogenic model of the ore deposit are investigated respectively,on the basis of systematic analysis of the regional tectonic background,minerogenetic condition,geophysical and geochemical characteristics,combining with other ore-controlling factors of Sawayaerdun peripheral area.Sawayaerdun polymetallic deposit experienced the following main stages:(1)Carbonates interbeded with fine clastic rocks formed in early stage of oceanic basin;(2)formation of Pb-Zn-Ag ore bodies through regional metamorphism;(3)rearrangement and enrichment of Pb-Zn-Ag during the subsequent orogenic process.Geochemical multivariate statistical analysis shows-intensive enrichment of ore-forming elements such as Pb,Zn,Ag and Cu in the ore district,and intensive correlations between Pb,Zn and Cu characterized by the correlation coefficient of 0.88,0.86 respectively.The combination anomalies of Zn-Cu-Pb and Ag-As-Hg indicate Pb-Zn-Ag mineralization,by which four sites with level-3 geochemical anomaly are selected.Superimposed anomaly area of Pb-Zn-Ag-Cu-Hg-Au is identified as a preferable ore-finding area.Research results have indicated the future direction of geological prospecting and primarily analysed the prospecting potential of ore district.
