As a main internal cause for regulating seed germination and dormancy, endogenous hormones have been paid much attention. The former studies focused mainly on the content of endogenous hormones and its controlling genes, there's few studies to discuss the variation of endogenous hormone content in seeds with changeable environmental conditions. In this paper,Anemone rivularis var.flore-minore distributed in the alpine meadow on the northeastern Qinghai-Tibet plateau were studied, and we discussed the effect of endogenous hormones content of seeds collected from different altitude on seed germination and dormancy under different storage conditions and storage time. The results showed:1)The storage time, storage conditions and germination conditions have significant influence on the percent germination and days to first germination.Percent germination decreased and days to the first germination increased with increasing storage time;it was more conducive to seed conservation under cold storage than under room temperature;light affected the mechanism of seed germination as an exogenous stimulating signal, enhanced the percent germination and increased days to first germination;there was significant difference in percent germination among altitudes, but not significant in days to first germination;2)There were significant difference in endogenous hormone content among seed germination stage which included dry seed, imbibed seed and germinated seed.Endogenous hormones content decreased significantly due to consume for germination preparation when dry seed started to imbibe water. On basis of the difference in synthesis and consumption,it was different trends in the change of endogenous hormone from imbibed seeds to germinated seeds;3)The effect of storage time, storage conditions and altitude on endogenous hormones content was significant. However, there was no significant difference in the absolute and relative content of endogenous hormones in dry seeds between the storage conditions. In other words, endogenous hormone content of dry seeds was not affected by environmental temperature in the process of storage.4)GAs in high concentration could inhibit seed germination, thus, seed dormancy of Anemone rivularis var.flore-minore was maintained due to not only the synthesis of ABA but also the storage of massive GAs.5)In comparison with the absolute content of hormones, the ratio of inhibitors and promoters was more important to control seed germination and dormancy. In other words, the main factor for regulating seed germination and dormancy was the balance between inhibitors and promoters.
