The correlation between phylogeny and functional traits contributes to understand the mechanism of adaptive evolution. The genus Carex(Cyperaceae)in the world around the distribution of more than 2000 species, distributed in our country nearly 500 species, almost all kinds of habitats are present. It is an important and dominant group of habitats such as lakeside, forests and swamps. It is an ideal species for studying phylogeny and functional traits in different habitats.Based on the Molecular phylogeny and leaf functiona traits, adaptability evolution of the genus Carex to habitat was studied in the Poyang Lake Basin,29 species of sedge(11species of wetland and 18 species of terrestrial). The results are as follows:(1)All the genomic DNAs were extracted and amplified by PCR using three fragments of cpDNA primers.A phylogenetic tree was constructed, and the wet and terrestrial grasses were basically divided into two branches, which indicated that the phylogenetic development and habitat of the grasses were unified. The habitat had a selective effect on the species of the grass, and the phylogenetic analysis The results support the adaptation of the grasses to the wetland environment from the genetic background.(2)Pearson correlation analysis was performed on the 12 functional traits of the leaves. The results showed that there were 21 significant correlations among the66 correlations,7 significant correlations, and a large proportion of traits,Indicating the co-evolution between the various traits of performance.(3)According to 12 functional traits,a cluster analysis map was constructed by MVSP software. The results were basically clustered together with wetland grasses and terrestrial grasses. This indicates that the functional traits of the grass and the habitat are corresponding, and under different habitats, the leaf functional characteristics of the grass are different, which supports the adaptation of the grass to the wetland habitat from the functional trait.(4)Based on the analysis of phylogenetic analysis and leaf functional trait clustering,we found that the adaptability of the grass to the wetland can be explainedby the three aspects. The phylogenetic development of the grass is accompanied by the change of the functional traits. The relationship between development and habitat is consistent;the functional traits of the grass are adapted to the habitat.Phylogenetic, functional traits, habitat is a unified link between the three.
