C-FMCW radar in Tibet Naqu area continuous detected precipitation clouds on the plateau from July to August 2014, and in this paper we have done some processing and inversion to the vertical profile of echo data which was obtained, The data of the vertical profile of the echo were processed and retrieved to obtain 127 precipitation clouds, 37 convective clouds and 44 stratiform clouds are included. we extracted 13 characteristic parameters from precipitation clouds, including Convective Index(difference of updafts and downdrafts,CI), the maximum cloud top(Hctop),the maximum height of 35dBZ(Hz35), the maximum reflectivity and so on.Using the cluster analysis method to classify 37 convective precipitation clouds,the classification results of deep and shallow convective in the parameter of CI is similar to Hz35 and Hctop(similarity exceeds 0.8),and their significance levels are high, which shows that the Cl, Hz35 and Hctop have good consistency. Finally, we got 9 deep convective precipitation clouds and 28 shallow convective precipitation clouds from the convective precipitation in naqu, 2014.The CI in deep convective clouds can approach 33m/s,Hctop can reach 12.5km(AGL),Hz35 is higher than 5km;The CI in shallow convective clouds only had an average of 7m/s, average Hctop is about 5km,Hz35 with an average of 2.5km.The deep convective clouds(at the height about 0.8 to 1.5km) often appear a steady layer which is similar to the Bright Band, not as the shallow convective clouds.The PPI showed that deep convective clouds the C-FMCW radar detected is a organized multi-monomer in convective precipitation system, shallow convective clouds are convective cells like scattering popcorn,and the stratiform cloud is a large weak steady area, with a bright band.. 9 deep convection clouds caused ground rainfall 82.7 mm, Accounted for 28% of the total rainfall of the two months, and sometimes accompanied by hail;28 shallow convective accumulation caused ground rainfall 28.7 mm, is far less than the deep convection rainfall contribution. Rain Intensity of 44 stratiform clouds are small but have the long duration, resulting in cumulative ground rainfall of 119.2mm, accounting for 41% of total precipitation.
