Katydids as one of representatives of insects which can make stridulations, living in the environment which is generally in the bushes, grass, and a few species live in trees.Intraspecific communication mainly depends on the stridulations, and the commun ication ability through sounds is regarded as the basis for many of their life activities. The stridulations of male katydids have great appeal to the female of the same kind, which can induce females to move fast towards males being tweet and they also ca n use signal of stridulations to trap female individuals. Some stridulations of katydids are species-specific,and chirp sounder producing stridulations is also different.Studying the stridulation characteristics of katydids and the structure of sounder, providing a solid basis for the identification of sibling species, relative species and for studying the origin and evolution of the species. The left wing of a male cricket is ribbed, with 50 to 300 ridges. This surface is called the file. The top part of the right wing is called the scraper. When the left wing is raised to a 15-45-degree angle and the scraper part of the right wing is rubbed against it,it results in a chirping sound. The technical name for this actionstridulation. Each time a pair of wi ngs produces a sound, called a syllable.A set of syllables whichare composed of different numbers of repetitions, form a complete set of sounds. The shape and arrangement of the teeth of different kinds of crickets are different, and this result in their different location and weight of the friction. We analyzed the Tettigoniidae collected from Shanxi,Hubei,Inner Mongolia,Gansu,Yunnan and Henan by using the MATLAB software, including 9 genera and 14 species of Tettigoniidae Tettigoniidae Grylloidea and 5 genera and 11 species of a total of 25 male stridulations characteristics.Through the research, drawing the following conclusions:(1)The repetition rate of pulse group, pulse repetition rate and the main peak frequency of stridulations in male katydids are usually high and the pattens of stridulations for these species in the different period of day or night are different;male voice file differentiation significantly, usually in different parts of the shape of stridulatory teeth is a significant difference between the teeth, the number is relatively small.(2)The energy for male crickets' stridulation is concentrated in a relatively narrow frequency range;most of the species stridulate different in different period of day and night significantly, while the male's file differentiation is relatively simple, and the sounding teeth are arranged regularly, which usually similar in morphology, but the number is relatively large.(3)The repetition rate of pulse group, pulse repetition rate and the main peak frequency of stridulations in male katydids and crickets are significantly different during day and night, and stridulatory file and mirror shape, number and structure of stridulatory teeth difference is significant.
